Zeta SALL4 Antibody. Zeta’s recombinant rabbit antibody recognizes SALL4 (SALL4, sal-like 4), a protein involved in maintenance of embryonic stem cell pluripotency, a malignant germ cell tumor marker, and a novel oncogene important in the initiation and progression of cancers.
SALL4 is one of four members of the SALL (spalt-like, sal-like) family of transcription factors, mammalian homologs of the Drosophila region-specific homeotic gene spalt, which encodes a zinc finger-containing transcription regulator. Drosophila spalt is an essential genetic component required for the specification of the posterior head and anterior tail as opposed to the trunk. SALL4 expression in early mouse embryos is gradually confined to the head region and the primitive streak, followed by a prominent expression in the developing midbrain, branchial arches, limbs, and genital papilla.
