Zeta TFE3 Antibody. Zeta’s recombinant rabbit antibody recognizes TFE3 (Transcription factor E3), which belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix zipper transcription factor family. TFE3 gene, located on Xp11.2, is translocated with more than 20 different genes in a variety of tumor types, most commonly in MiT family translocation renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and where children and young adults have a good prognosis with this translaction while older adults may have a worse prognosis. Overall, these TFE3 translocation often leads to upregulation of TFE3 and subsequent cell proliferation and oncogenesis where TFE3 gene translocation results in aberrant overexpression of the fusion oncoprotein.
The Zeta TFE3 antibody can be a screening aid in the differentiation ofMiT family translocation associated renal cell carcinoma (RCC) from other types of renal cell carcinoma, particularly those with clear cell morphology and papillary architecture. The rearrangement of the TFE3 gene is associated with a variety of tumors, and TFE3 is highly expressed in acinar soft tissue sarcoma with TFE3 fusion gene, Xp11.2 translocation/TFE3 gene fusion-related renal cell carcinoma, and in perivascular epithelioid cell tumors. Additionally, a subset of epithelioid hemangioendotheliomas, PEComas and solid pseudopapillary neoplasms of the pancreas may also be positive for TFE3
