Myosin SMHC

    Soft Tissue Pathology
    SMMS-1 Mouse Monoclonal

Zeta Myosin SMHC Antibody. Zeta’s monoclonal antibody recognizes Myosin SMHC (Smooth Muscle Heavy Chain), an asymmetric protein with a globular head and an a-helical coiled-coil rod that is responsible for the assembly of myosin into filaments.  Zeta’s Myosin SMHC antibody (clone SMMS-1) recognizes smooth muscle myosin, heavy chain that reacts with human visceral and vascular smooth muscle cells. The Myosin SMHC antibody also reacts with human myoepithelial cells and is very helpful in distinguishing between benign sclerosing breast lesions and infiltrating carcinomas in difficult cases since it strongly stains the myoepithelial layer in the benign lesions while it is negative in the infiltrating carcinomas.
