Zeta CD35 Antibody. Zeta’s recombinant rabbit antibody recognizes CD35 (Complement Receptor 1), a cell membrane-bound, monomeric glycoprotein on numerous cell types, including erythrocytes, leukocytes, glomerular podocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. The primary function of CD35 is to serve as the cellular receptor for C3b and C4b, the essential components of the complement system leading to clearance of foreign macromolecules. CD35 antigen is found on erythrocytes, B cells, a subset of T cells, monocytes, as well as eosinophils and neutrophils. The CD35 antibody is considered a mature B-cell marker that labels follicular dendritic reticulum cells and tumors derived from cells such as follicular dendritic cell tumor/sarcoma.
CD45 expression can be used to diagnose follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. CD45 is also expressed in normal follicular dendritic cells, erythrocytes; basophils, eosinophils, granulocytes, monocytes, macrophages (some), B cells, T cells (10%), NK cell subset, some astrocytes. CD45 expression is found in Hodgkin lymphoma, inflammatory GI fibroid polyps (focal in stromal cells), and splenic marginal zone lymphoma.
